Photocatalysis of Molecular Hydrogen Evolution from Aqueous Sulfite Solutions by CdS/Ni Composite Nanoparticles A. L. Stroyuk, A. V. Korzhak, A. E. Raevskaya, S. Ya. Kuchmy L. V. Pysarzhevsky institute of Physical Chemistry, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine 31 Prosp. Nauky, 03028 Kyiv, Ukraine Photocatalytic reduction of Ni2+over CdS nanoparticles was studied. It was established that CdS/Ni nanocomposite formed in this reaction has photocatalytic activity in molecular hydrogen evolution from aqueous sodium sulfite solutions. Kinetic regularities of these reactions was studied and their mechanism scheme was proposed. Key words: photocatalysis, CdS nanoparticles, nickel, metal-semiconductor composites, hydrogen. |
